HDFC Securities Not Working

HDFC Securities Not Working

So you opened the HDFC Securities InvestRight app or logged into the web portal, and suddenly found that HDFC Securities not working.

It could be anything, like you couldn’t:

  • Place an order

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Io what’s really going wrong? Let’s get into the details to find the reason for such technical glitches and what you can do to address this.

HDFC Securities App Not Working

Let’s be real, it’s infuriating when your trading app crashes mid-session.

One trader shared this experience:

“InvestRight not working, trust on HDFC Securities has collapsed to all-time low… They have scrapped the bottom of the barrel with this one.”

Others logged in only to find the landing page stuck, or even fingerprint login timing out. Some couldn’t add funds, with their account status showing blank. One user pointed out that even the web portal itself wouldn’t load the OTP screen.

Other user said:

“I placed derivatives sell orders 2 hours ago, but they haven’t been executed due to a technical glitch… prices have dropped. Who will cover my losses?”

HDFC acknowledged the issue and said they were working with vendor TCS to fix intermittent NSE F&O execution failures. Equity, currency, and other segments were unaffected.

Here are a few cases in the last 2 years that clients faced with the HDFC Neo app that led to losses.

1. March 10, 2023 — Old Stock Prices Stuck in App Broadcast

Several users opened the app to find stock prices frozen from the previous day—despite markets being live. The investors couldn’t trust stale data, and decision-making froze.

HDFC confirmed it was a broadcast issue, not affecting order routing, and that the rates updated around 9:45 AM.

Still, for traders depending on accuracy, it made the app useless at the start of trading.

2. February 17 & September 2024 — Balance Mismatch & Sell Failures

Reddit posts detailed rude surprises: one user lost ₹10,000 when the app said they had insufficient shares in DEMAT, even though they held the stock in full, and couldn’t sell at IPO listing.

The system showed only part of their holdings, triggering wrongful auto-sales of NFO shares.

Others reported delays in account opening and demat setup, even after months.

3. October 3, 2024 — NSE Derivatives Segment Glitch

During a sharp market drop, many investors discovered they couldn’t place orders in the NSE derivatives segment. The InvestRight app glitched, and sell or stop-loss orders failed silently.

Some users claimed losses in the range of ₹70,000 simply because their sell orders never went through.

While equity, BSE derivatives, and other segments continued normally, those on NSE F&O were left stranded.

HDFC Securities acknowledged the issue, stating it was an intermittent problem in the NSE F&O segment, and said they were working with TCS to fix it.

4. February 3, 2025 — Partial App Outage: Portfolio Missing

Investors saw blank portfolios, even when the web version showed correct holdings. Apps lagged, screens failed to refresh, and customers felt lost mid-trade.

Many said the issue came and went within hours, but it was enough to cause panic, especially for those relying solely on mobile to monitor investments.

5. April 8, 2025 — Trading App Glitch Hits Market Rebound

Traders reported that the InvestRight app refused to add funds or show account details during a market rebound.

Many said the screen froze for 30–40 minutes just when trades mattered most. Frustrated users took to X (Twitter), claiming the glitch hits every critical day.

Though HDFC later issued an apology and offered to review screenshots, there was no clear explanation or preventive assurance.
