“Sir, Woh Meri Life Ki Jama-Poonji Thi…”
A Case of Misled Hopes, Market Scams, and a Well-Fought Refund
It was a Wednesday evening when we first spoke to Chand Ansari.
“Main sir ke videos dekhta hoon… kya aap meri madad kar sakte ho?”
The voice on the other side cracked—not because of the network, but because of the weight it carried.
You could tell this wasn’t a casual investor. This was someone whose eyes had seen sleepless nights and whose mind had replayed every rupee lost, over and over again.
And then he dropped the line that froze me.
“Woh ₹4,65,000 meri life ki jama poonji thi.”
He wasn’t exaggerating. Chand, like countless Indians, had entered the stock market not chasing luxury but survival. And unfortunately, he found what many do: the wrong people at the wrong time.
The Trap Was Set
It began innocently, like most scams do. Chand stumbled upon a company called NiftyPro Trading Research, operated by a man named Sameer Pandey.
Now, on the face of it, their pitch was golden.
“Accurate stock recommendations. 90% intraday success rate. Testimonials from people earning daily.”
The usual trap. Glossy, polished lies.
He was offered a premium monthly package worth ₹1,00,000. But Chand couldn’t afford it, and said so honestly. That’s when Sameer offered him a “deal”:
“Let’s go for profit-sharing. Just pay ₹55,000 upfront, and we’ll take 30% of the profits we generate for you.”
It sounded like a fair compromise. Chand agreed. But what followed was a trail of disaster disguised as service.
They asked him to hold positions with no stop-loss. Gave him tips that went south.
One by one, his trades bled. And before he knew it, his ₹4.65 lakh was gone—wiped clean.
When he raised questions, the company conveniently changed the narrative. That ₹55,000?
Not profit-sharing anymore.
They now claimed it was a “service fee.”
The Turn of the Tide
That’s when Chand reached out to us.
We knew this wasn’t just a matter of misleading advice—it was a direct violation of SEBI regulations.
Research Analysts (RAs) aren’t allowed to enter into profit-sharing agreements. It compromises their objectivity and encourages risky, manipulative behavior.
But this wasn’t the first time Sameer Pandey’s firm had done this.
SEBI had already slapped a penalty of ₹2 lakh on him on 24th December 2024, calling out the same violations:
- Misleading promotions
- Fake testimonials
- Profit guarantees
- And most importantly, illegal fee structures
We advised Chand to file for arbitration.
What followed was months of back-and-forth, legal arguments, and one powerful hearing on March 24th, 2025.
The Hearing Room
If you’ve never been to an arbitration session, here’s what you need to imagine:
Two screens.
Two legal representatives.
One retired judge acted as the Arbitrator.
And between them—hope, truth, and an attempt at justice.
Chand wasn’t alone. We represented him.
On the other side was a legal rep from NiftyPro, denying all wrongdoing, presenting website terms, claiming SEBI had already dismissed earlier complaints.
They tried everything to hide behind disclaimers and digital signatures.
But we had something stronger.
Audio recordings where the terms of profit-sharing were discussed.
SEBI’s penalty order, already proving fraud.
And above all, Chand’s consistency and raw honesty.
The Award
On April 29, 2025, the Arbitrator—Amar Sinha—gave the final verdict.
“The respondent company violated the provisions of SEBI Rules and is liable to return ₹4,65,000 to the claimant with interest.”
A simple sentence.
But to Chand, it was the return of his dignity.
If Sameer fails to pay within a month, 15% annual interest will be added. That’s the law. That’s the power of standing up.
Why This Story Matters
Chand’s case is one among thousands. But unlike many, he chose to speak. He chose to fight. And we had the privilege to stand with him.
We don’t just highlight these scams—we battle them.
Behind every refund is a family that breathes again. A man who tells his wife the money is coming back. A daughter whose school fees are now possible.
This isn’t just about trading.
It’s about accountability.
It’s about fighting back when the system allows it.
And it’s about telling victims, you are not alone.
If you’ve faced something similar, don’t stay silent.
