Dolat Finserv Private Limited: Can You Trust An IA With Issues In Pricing And Refund Terms

Dolat Finserv Private Limited

Quick Summary

Dolat Finserv Private Limited is a Mumbai based SEBI registered Investment Adviser with registration INA000020101, valid from 19 April 2025 on a perpetual basis. Its complaint table for January 2026 shows 1 resolved against 0 received and 0 carried forward. We also found no IA fee terms, no refund terms and no IA specific termination terms in its Terms of Use. This blog explains what each disclosure shows and what to confirm in writing before you pay.

A well known group name on an advisory offer can make the paperwork feel safer than it is. Dolat Finserv Private Limited is one such name, and its public disclosures say a lot once you read them slowly.

We went through the firm’s listing, website wording, complaint tables, Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

This blog sets out what they show, what they leave unclear, and what you can ask before you hand over money or documents.

What Is Dolat Finserv Private Limited?

Dolat Finserv Private Limited is a Mumbai company that describes its advisory offering as “unbiased advisory with precision and clarity”.

It says it aims to build solutions around a client’s own objectives.

The website lists a wide menu of services. These include financial portfolio management, legacy planning, direct equity investments, international investment advisory, derivatives and hedging strategies, treasury solutions and real estate advisory.

It also promotes direct investment opportunities in private companies, covering equity and debt deals and opportunities linked to PE and VC funds.

Extra services mentioned are portfolio analytics, forensic audits, wealth audits, strategic product analysis, risk management and proprietary segregated mandates.

The site carries dedicated pages for grievance redressal, complaints data, the Investor Charter, an IA disclaimer, Terms of Use and a Privacy Policy.

It also points to SEBI, SCORES and SMART ODR information.

Is Dolat Finserv Private Limited SEBI Registered?

The firm’s listing shows an Investment Adviser registration, and the details below come from that listing and the firm’s website.

Treat them as a checklist, and match each item against the SEBI intermediary search yourself before you share any documents.

  • Registered name is Dolat Finserv Private Limited.
  • Registration number is INA000020101. The INA prefix marks an Investment Adviser, while INH marks a Research Analyst.
  • Validity runs from 19 April 2025 and is shown as perpetual.
  • Principal Officer is listed as Viplab Dasgupta, who is also the contact person on the listing.
  • Compliance and Grievance Officer is shown on the website as Aditya Moudgil.
  • Registered address is 301 to 308 Bhagwati House, A 19 Veera Desai Road, Andheri West, Mumbai 400058.

Two correspondence addresses appear. The listing gives Unit No. 1201, B Wing, 12th Floor, Naman Midtown, Senapati Bapat Marg, Elphinstone, Prabhadevi, Mumbai 400013.

The website gives Unit No. 1203, A Wing on the same floor of the same building.

That could be a plain update that reached one place before the other.

It is still a small detail worth clearing with the firm, because notices and agreements should go to one confirmed address.

The registration is recent. A perpetual registration from April 2025 means the firm has been an IA for roughly eighteen months as of 10 October 2026, so the public record of how it handles clients is short.

In the sources we reviewed, we found no SEBI order against the firm as of 10 October 2026.

That rests on our own limited search, and it is not a clean certificate. Check the SEBI orders section yourself on the day you decide.

Dolat Finserv Services List and What IA Rules Cover

A long services list can feel reassuring, but SEBI’s Investment Adviser rules cover only part of it.

The numbered points below take the services that most readers ask about, and each one shows what you can confirm.

1. Private Company Investments and PE and VC Opportunities

The website promotes direct investment opportunities in private companies, including equity, debt and fund routes.

Advice on listed securities sits comfortably inside IA rules, but a private placement can involve a different set of products, intermediaries and risk disclosures.

Ask which entity offers the opportunity, who earns a fee from it, and whether it is covered by the same agreement you sign for advice.

Get the answers in writing.

2. Real Estate Advisory

Real estate advice appears in the services list next to securities advisory.

A plot or apartment is not a security, so SEBI’s IA framework, its fee cap and its complaint routes may not cover that part of the relationship.

Before you pay for it, ask whether it is billed under the IA registration or by another entity or arrangement.

That one answer tells you where to complain if something goes wrong.

3. Derivatives and Hedging Strategies

The firm says it has deep experience in derivatives strategies and quantitative methods.

Derivatives can move quickly against you, so SEBI expects advisers to profile your risk and judge suitability before recommending them.

Ask how the firm records your risk profile, and whether a derivatives strategy would be suggested to someone at your profile.

4. Audits, Analytics and Proprietary Segregated Mandates

Forensic audits, wealth audits and portfolio analytics sound like review services, while segregated mandates sound closer to managing money.

An Investment Adviser gives advice, and managing money on your behalf is a separate registered activity.

If any service involves the firm acting on your account, ask in writing which registration it runs under.

The firm can then show you where that permission sits.

The point of this list is simple. When a firm sells many things, you should know which of them fall under the registration you checked and which do not.

What Do Dolat Finserv Private Limited’s Complaint Records Show?

Complaint tables are the clearest public view of how an adviser handles disputes.

The tables below show the firm’s monthly and annual figures as disclosed, and you can read each row as carried forward plus received, less resolved, giving pending.

The first table is the monthly trend from January to September 2026.

Month

Carried forward Received Resolved Pending

January 2026

0 0 1

0

February to September 2026 (each month) 0 0 0

0

Total 0 0 1

0

The annual table reads as follows.

Year

Carried forward Received Resolved Pending
2025 0 0 0

0

2026 0 0 1

0

We added the columns ourselves. Received adds to 0, resolved adds to 1, and pending stays at 0 across both tables, so the totals match the rows.

The part that needs a closer look is the January 2026 row.

It shows one complaint resolved with none received that month and none carried forward from December.

Read plainly, that would leave pending at minus one, which a pending column cannot show.

The annual 2026 row repeats the same pattern, and the 2025 row shows zeros throughout.

So the tables do not show when or how that one resolved complaint first reached the firm.

There are several ordinary ways to explain this, and we cannot say which one applies.

The complaint may have been received before the period the table covers, such as around the registration date.

It may have come through a channel counted differently, or the firm may have filled the template in a way that left the received column blank.

A data entry slip on the firm’s side is also possible. None of these is something we assert, and the firm is the right party to explain it.

One correction on how this is sometimes described.

The September 2026 table showing zero received and zero resolved does not conflict with January, because it covers a different month. The only open question is the January row.

SEBI expects advisers to publish complaint data monthly by the 7th of the following month.

The September 2026 figures were therefore due by 7 October 2026, and the table does run through September.

If you ever raise a dispute with the firm, keep your own dated copy of the complaint and any reply.

That makes your own paper trail complete, whatever the public table shows.

What Do Dolat Finserv’s Fees and Refund Terms Say?

Fee clarity is what most clients ask about first.

The firm’s Terms of Use mention that it may introduce free or subscription based services, but we could not find an IA fee structure, charges or payment terms in them.

Dolat Finserv Private Limited Terms of Use and user restrictions excerpt
Dolat Finserv Private Limited’s online terms & conditions governing platform usage

We could not find refund provisions for advisory fees either. That leaves open whether money comes back if you stop early, or if you were sold the plan on a misunderstanding.

The Terms allow the firm to suspend or end access to online services.

We could not find a clear process for ending the advisory relationship itself, or what you are entitled to when it ends.

None of this means the firm has no such terms elsewhere. A separate IA agreement or Most Important Terms and Conditions document may carry them, and that document is the one to ask for before you pay.

SEBI’s rules cap an IA’s fixed fee at 1,51,000 per client family per year.

Here is a worked example for your own checking, and the figures are illustrative only, not the firm’s prices.

If a plan were quoted at 1,25,000 plus 18 percent GST, the total would be 1,47,500.

The fee itself stays under the cap, and you should still confirm in writing whether GST is charged on top of the fee.

A quote of 1,78,180 would equal the cap plus 18 percent GST, which is not a breach on its own.

You would still ask the firm to show the base fee and the tax as two separate lines.

SEBI also expects an agreement and the MITC to be in your hands before fees are collected. Ask for both, read them at home, and pay only after you have them.

What Does Dolat Finserv Claim About Alpha Generation and Performance?

Wording on an adviser’s website shapes your expectations before you ever speak to anyone.

The firm’s site uses several strong phrases, and the points below explain how you might weigh each one against SEBI’s rules.

1. “Alpha generation” and Bespoke Strategies

The site says its approach focuses on alpha generation and bespoke strategies built from long experience, quantitative expertise and analysis of 200+ stocks. Alpha means returns above a benchmark, and no adviser can promise it.

SEBI’s rules bar guaranteed or assured returns. You can ask the firm how it measures alpha, over which period, and whether it shares any audited record.

2. “Unparalleled execution”

The site describes a distinctive viewpoint coupled with unparalleled execution. An Investment Adviser gives advice and does not normally execute trades for you, so the word execution is worth asking about.

Ask which part of the service the firm means by execution and who carries it out.

3. “First in industry” and “Pioneering Wealth Audit”

Phrases like “Wealth Manager Audit, First in Industry” appear on the site. A first claim is hard to check from outside, and it does not tell you how a service performs for you.

You can ask what the claim rests on, and who audits the wealth managers being reviewed.

4. “40 years of experience” and “200+ stocks”

The site puts forward 40 years of experience in derivatives strategies and quantitative methods, plus coverage of 200+ stocks by its in house research desk.

Experience shows depth, but it does not by itself show outcomes for clients.

Ask whether the 40 years belong to the firm, to its people, or to its group. The registration itself dates only from April 2025.

5. “Optimize portfolio performance”

Several service descriptions speak of optimizing portfolio performance and benefiting clients. Such wording can lift expectations about results.

A fair reading is that it describes intent, not a promise. Still, ask for the written scope of what you would receive.

How Does Dolat Finserv Handle Privacy and Data Sharing?

An advisory relationship needs a lot of personal detail, so the privacy policy deserves a careful read.

The three points below sum up what the policy says and what you may want clarified.

1. Sharing with Group Companies

The policy permits sharing personal information with Dolat Capital Market Pvt Ltd and its group companies or associated entities.

The stated purposes include business, operational, compliance and regulatory needs.

The policy does not, in our reading, name which group entities could receive your data.

Ask the firm for a list, and ask whether sharing needs your separate consent.

2. Wide Data Collection

The policy says the firm may collect PAN, KYC details, bank and Demat information, income, financial circumstances, investment and risk profile, holdings and transactions. Advice does need part of this data.

The policy does not clearly separate what the advisory service needs from what other businesses might collect.

Ask for the data list tied to your advisory service alone.

3. Any Other Purpose Permitted By Law

The policy lets data be processed for any other purpose permitted or required under applicable law, alongside many business and analytical purposes. That wording is broad.

You can ask whether the firm will use your data only for your advice, and whether you can withdraw consent for marketing and group use.

What Do Dolat Finserv’s Terms of Use and Aggregator Disclaimer Cover?

The Terms of Use also say the firm may act as an aggregator of third party information.

It states that it will not be responsible for errors, omissions or delays that come from those third party sources.

If you read market data, research or prices through the platform, you may not know how far the firm checks them.

That makes the limit of its responsibility worth asking about.

A useful question is whether the advice you pay for is based on the firm’s own research, or on third party information shown on the platform.

The agreement should state the answer.

Questions to Ask Dolat Finserv Before You Sign

You can turn everything above into a short list for your first call.

Keep it as a written email trail, because replies on paper are easier to rely on later.

1. Which entity will I pay, and under which registration?

Ask for the legal name and registration number on the invoice, and confirm INA000020101 appears on your agreement. This matters most if real estate or private company deals are discussed.

2. Where are my fee, refund and exit terms?

Ask for the IA agreement and the MITC in writing. Look for the exact fee, the GST line, refund rules and how you can end the service.

3. How was the January 2026 complaint recorded?

You may politely ask the firm to explain its complaint table. A clear answer tells you something about how it keeps records.

4. Who sees my data?

Ask which group entities can receive your information, and whether you can say no to marketing contact.

5. What will you not promise?

Ask the firm to confirm in writing that it gives no guaranteed or assured returns. A clear reply helps you match its website claims with its agreement.

How To Raise a Complaint About Dolat Finserv?

Start with the firm. The website lists a grievance redressal page, and the Compliance and Grievance Officer is shown as Aditya Moudgil, so write to that officer and keep the dated reply.

Give the firm a reasonable window to respond, and say in your message what outcome you want.

A clear ask makes any later escalation easier to follow.

If the answer does not satisfy you, the next step is the regulator.

Our guide to SEBI complaint against registered investment advisor explains what to gather and how to frame it, so read it before you write anything.

Keep copies of your agreement, payment proof and every message in one folder. Those papers do most of the talking in any forum.

Most investors then use the official SEBI route.

The step by step walkthrough on the SCORES SEBI complaint page shows where to lodge it online and what a complete filing looks like.

If the firm or SEBI route leaves the matter open, you still have options.

Online mediation and a formal ruling are both available in the market, and each suits a different kind of dispute.

Some disputes suit online mediation first. Read how the SMART ODR portal works if you want a structured route to settle a payment dispute without a long process.

Note the dates of each step as you go, because delay can weaken a claim.

Where a claim needs a formal ruling, many investors look at the arbitration route.

Our explainer on arbitration in share market helps you judge whether it fits your case.

Legal note: This blog is based on the firm’s published disclosures and publicly available SEBI records as of 10 October 2026. It does not allege wrongdoing, and the firm is welcome to share its side. We could not independently confirm the firm’s agreements, MITC, fee schedule, the reason for the January 2026 complaint entry, or any review platform feedback, and we did not visit the firm’s website for this blog.

Conclusion

Dolat Finserv Private Limited holds an Investment Adviser registration, and the disclosures we reviewed show gaps worth closing before you pay.

The biggest are the January 2026 complaint row, the missing IA fee, refund and termination terms, and the broad data sharing.

Before anything else, verify the registration yourself on the SEBI search page. Then ask for the agreement, the MITC and the group data list in writing.

Keep every message, receipt and call note in one folder.

If an answer does not come, you already hold the paper trail you need to take the next step.

Decide at your own pace. A good adviser will wait for your questions.
